photos

Everyone is going down with goodness knows what.  Well Andrew appeared this morning coughing loudly and Sam our cleaner is in the throes of a cold, her husband much worse.  And Lillie is plonked on my sofa waiting for Sam to clean the bathroom.  Sam is a fairly new arrival, she just cleans the main areas of the house thoroughly  and comes once a fortnight.   So I thought as it is my birthday I would go through my photos.

Daftness
Lillie asleep against the bread bin

Jennie should recognise this.  A visiting Bucky and Loie from America. Had a belated Xmas card yesterday from her. When I find a beautiful card Loie will write back.

Lazy summer rivers
A wilderness
Yesterday on the radio, an 'expert' said of the wildflowers being produced for us to grow in our gardens and scatter along road verges, that we may be doing harm, because artificially bred seeds might upset the balance of the wildflower seed.

Drooping willows in mill ponds

And of course I miss Paul

Lillie has fallen asleep on the sofa.  The young can sleep through the day quite happily.  Fish and chips for tea tonight!  We have not been touched by the storm it rages further South, Cornwall and the Scilly Isles were given a red warning.

  1. Happy Birthday! I am surprised that Sam would not postpone due to carrying a cold… Your photos are lovely - willows in millponds are, to me, as happiness-inspiring as (cue Julie Andrews) whiskers on kittens! Happiness, health, and long life to you!

Don't catch the cough/cold germs! It's awful and can last much too long!

  7. Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts. I have just had my phone explained. Happy birthday kept popping up (how did it know?) And my 'green app' posted messages which turns out to be messages from the family but which I was unaware of. All complicated for me, especially people from the past in my contacts suddenly showed up, apparently I can talk to them as well. I do indeed feel happy and blessed by my family around and being part of the blogger world. xxx

  8. While I know nothing, still I am inclined to agree about spreading seed. Nature is quite good at that without human interference if the environment is good.
And a very happy birthday to you.
