We have to wait for history to turn the next page. Be thankful that amidst the horror of war people stand up for the right choice. So for one day people in America showed what they felt and I think it worked. So breath a sigh of relief for a moment before the next moment comes flying in. And of course it already has in the exchange of rockets between Israel an Iran.
Trump may have to learn that people don't worship would be kings, authoritarianism doesn't work. and as for king of all you see, that was a childhood game before we learnt how to live with others. His humiliation (I am almost feeling sorry for him for goodness sake) is there for all the world to see, No wonder he fell asleep.

It was a satisfying weekend, to be sure. It made me feel as if I am not alone in my dismay. However, tRUMP has vowed to send ICE to all cities with democratic mayors, to states with democratic governors. It's a provocation. He wants people to protest so that he can send in troops. He wants an us vs. them mentality to divide us all. We can only push on. You will note that every place that has asked for peaceful protest has pretty much got it. It is when the batons and tear gas and rubber bullets come out that people push back and then they are labeled rioters.
ReplyDeleteWell Debby I believe in the power of the people to change things. See how in Ellen's march, the police helped them. It is a long battle I know, but when so called dictators start throwing their weight around, all those men either in the military or ICE will they be able to use tear gas or rubber bullets against their own families and the families they see around them? Glad it all went well for you both.

DeleteWe had thousands protesting in my city and it was terrific. The police were so helpful - keeping us safe and stopping traffic for us to march. There was never any violence or trouble at all.

I must admit Ellen that finding these photos does quieten my world down a bit. Glad that everything went smoothly for you in the march. MAGA people are having a very cool reception should they arrive at these protests - Trump is not going to win ;)

ReplyDeleteHah - I did when it spread over my entire garden as it loves shingle! Had it overwhelming path edges, nicely planted borders - even escaping across the paddock to play with the 1/4 acre of escaped Mint!
