29th June 2025

I may not have a garden but Andrew keeps an eye on his parent's jungle garden.  So he took these photos from this weeks visit.  He calls it photos from the Prosecco Terrace, which means that he never went down the quarry but took the photos at the top.  But it was a kind thought, I love the blue of the thistles and the yellow/orange of the Californian poppies.
Talking of poppies, there was a story of a beautiful garden in Ireland called Patthana Gardens.  He had shown photos of his poppies on Face Book, but obviously they are 'drug' flowers and his photos were taken down as a punishment (he is back up again).  So the algorithms, or AI, are rather stupid.

  1. A cheery garden indeed. I spotted some favourites in the photos including the bright pink lychnis. I collected seeds from somewhere and have now got a number of young plants ready to plant out. Just need to see where I have any space.

    1. I watch how your garden develops Ruta. As a seaside garden there must be some problems with sea salt.

  2. I'm not great at gardening but I sure enjoy seeing pretty flowers blooming. I love all of the colors in your photos and thanks for the link to the garden in Ireland -it sure is amazing.

    1. Glad you enjoyed the link Ellen, gardens are places to lose yourself in and just sit within its protecting spaces.

  3. How pretty that garden is. I grew some of that Lychnis from seed and have it dotted around the garden, and hope it will self-seed now.

    1. If you are talking about the Patthana garden, you can see the artistic eye in his colours. I love the way he mixes all shades of red, especially dark with orange. It must be the knitter in me.

  5. No it is not a sea holly but one of the cultivars I think. And those are Californian poppies which just love hot dry places. Once tried to grow the sea holly but it obviously preferred being by the sea and not in my inland garden ;)
