Action at Staithes |
Everyone was enjoying the moment, Bernard Cribben as a sailor. |
Regimented rows of gravestones at St.Oswald Church, all facing out to sea |
Display of Viking cemetery stones in the church |
12th century green man |
Three Howes tumuli again on the moor, probably following the line of the old Roman road |
Part of the hogback grave |
How to make one! |
One of my favourite places along the coast Thelma.
ReplyDeleteStaithes is very popular as of course is Robin Hood Bay, both places of course very empty in winter.
DeleteWhat a pleasant spot (in summer!) - dare say it blows a hooley there in winter. Hogsbacks are fascinating, and I love the wee Green Man.
ReplyDeleteYes Jennie pretty bleak in winter, though fabulous to look at under the snow..
