I also remember the spaghetti that came out of a tin Sue, piled on toast for tea. It does seem extraordinary that some of us were as a nation unaware of where real spaghetti came from. We still keep our spaghetti in a tall glass jar, awkward to get out though. But then it was the time of the cook book writer Elizabeth David buying olive oil from the chemist to cook with and not use it for her ears ;)
Do you remember the first spaghetti that came here was about two foot long and needed a huge tall jar to store it, seems odd now.
