1957 - April Fool

Still a killer.  The spaghetti tree.

  1. Do you remember the first spaghetti that came here was about two foot long and needed a huge tall jar to store it, seems odd now.

  2. I also remember the spaghetti that came out of a tin Sue, piled on toast for tea. It does seem extraordinary that
some of us were as a nation unaware of where real spaghetti came from. We still keep our spaghetti in a tall glass jar, awkward to get out though. But then it was the time of the cook book writer Elizabeth David buying olive oil from the chemist to cook with and not use it for her ears ;)

  6. Playing an April Fool's joke would be quite difficult now, with so many unbelievable things happening every day.

    1. Oh jabblog...you gave me a laugh until I realized how sad this is. I wonder if, on April Fools day, Djt tricks us all by saying something truthful.

  8. Thank you for your comments everyone. One of the good things about the internet, is that there is a lot of funny stuff on it. I know people in America are miserable because of the tyrant in office but it seems to me that there is a good uprising against him. How America AND the world, (we have all been affected) will pick up the pieces after he is gone I don't know but there is a lot of goodness in the world, we work with each other not against. Traveller I found that seven page April Fool in the Guardian. It was in the days when everyone was not cutting each others throats for more money and life just chugged along. It may never be the same again but perhaps the shock waves which are rebounding from the American shores, will teach us all a lesson on who we vote into office to govern us.
