Anna Dillon painting, her use of bright acrylics are not a favourite of mine, but this painting of the downs has been toned down, and look there is a white horse (though it looks more like a dog) etched on a slope
This is the weather at the moment - grey and cloudy
Peering over the fence
An old holly bush drenched in berries, the pigeons will have them before Nelson sneaks into the copse to cut the branches and sell them at market at Christmas.
I was beginning to think it looked like a lion and I think she lives somewhere in that area, definitely wasn't a cat! Still feeling grey Jennie? but never forget like YP you do a lot of interesting trips. Hope you feel better soon. X
Still very down in the dumps. I've never been this bad in my life, nor for so long. A buyer would snap me out of it but that's not going to happen so we must plod on.
Ah...I just enlarged the picture and Bovey Belle is right. It does look like a lion and if you google around you can indeed find photographic images of the same. Grey day in Sheffield too. I am just about to go up to "The Hammer and Pincers" for what has become a traditional Monday afternoon session - thanks to COVID19. The world will seem sunnier afterwards - at least for an hour or two.
That could be a slogan for Tetley's bitter..."Transform the world with Tetley's!". It would look great on beermats. I could send you a promotional baseball cap.
Well the westerly flow of the wind which hits North seems to travel over the Pennines, losing its energy as it gets to the East and then makes off for Scotland, but it is still very grey and rainy at times.
I am not a fan of acrylics either Thelma - there is something unsubtle about them that turns me off. Here the weather has been awful and I have the heating on now for the evening. We have had sever al absolutely torrential downpours throughout the day. At least I wont have to water my conifers waiting to go in to my patio.
Yes the weather is beginning to turn very Autumnal, damp and muggy. The raindrops are pretty on the windows, as the wind sprays them around, but that is about the only thing the rain is good for at the moment apart from filling reservoirs.
It's the giant lion on the hillside above Whipsnade! I thought - that looks just like a lion, and went to ask Mr Google!
ReplyDeleteI like Ann Dillon's painting anyway. Grey day here too - in my head AND outside . . .

ReplyDeletecan beer transform the world I wonder? But enjoy your afternoon out, and yes I am completely convinced it is a lion.

DeleteThe local weather people are telling us it's much kinder near the coast today than for us in the Pennines.
