A small rant to an Ex

 To Boris

Interesting times indeed. The newscasters must have been wetting themselves in the excitement of news happening every five minutes yesterday.  My granddaughter rushed into the room "59 have resigned granny" she said.  So that is the end of a vain, lying creature.  The one, never forget this, that wrote two articles for Brexit, one for, the other against.  The nonsensical nationalistic, backward looking treaty we see today. Thank you Boris, yes, you will go down in history but not how you expected.

When all the fuss has died down, and hopefully they will sack you immediately sir, the whole bloody government will I trust get back to governing this country.  Just a few problems around I think you will find.  I don't know how the new chancellor will solve the problem of tax, but there are a lot of worried people who are finding the cost of living a tad too much.  Energy costs, food costs and rents that creep up inexplicably.

Read an interesting article in the Guardian yesterday, a solicitor who catered to the rich, you know finding all those off shore places to put their wealth in. Well, she became rather shocked at the meaness of this, so she reversed her role, and now advises them (and they are willing to pay taxes) to put their money to better use.

Be very afraid as well;)  my granddaughter has stuck her letter of giving her the right to vote to the fridge as of when she comes of age. The young will win out in the end!

  1. Fight the good fight!
We have got rid of our climate denying government here in Australia.
Voting is the answer. I am weary of hearing people trotting out the old chestnut ‘They are all the same…’ they are not. Bye Boris.

    1. The climate lurks like a big bad giant in the background, we are tackling it to some extent in this country but it needs a more positive attitude worldwide Sue. I am not relieved by Boris going, the fight to become the next prime minister will not give us peace but at least I shall concentrate on my blog with other non-political thoughts. And yes I am optimistic and the fight will always go on but in different directions.

  2. I knew there would be an uplifting comment from you this morning! Even in his speech yesterday not a single word of apology!

  3. Johnson lives in a world of his own and judges his own actions by the standards in his fantasy world. But yesterday was a day to go down in history Pat.

  4. Unfortunately replacing BJ is only the start, we still have all of the recent governments insanities to address.
Can you honestly see any of the runners having the guts to seriously deal with illegal immigrants, with the horrendously expensive white elephant that is HS2, the insanities of a Net Zero agenda that defies all physical realities, the increasingly rapid descent into a woke world where the Leader of the Opposition cannot bring himself to say what a woman is?

    1. Well it is going to be difficult to answer your questions Will but 'Net Zero' is an aspiration that we head for, achievement may be difficult. HS2 another grandiose scheme which then falls short of its target but give the city mayors some leeway and they may fix transport problems. As for 'woke' it means being awake to the problems that exist in the world (like you are doing at the moment). As for those who fall inbetween the cracks of the male/female definition, they are calling themselves 'they'. I agree it is difficult to open one's mouth at the moment without falling into some black hole of verbal wrongness but the world is changing, I reckon it is to do with the water we drink. I may seem flippant but I am also optimistic, if there is a problem - solve it. What I would like to see, is someone who will quietly address the tsunami of problems at the moment and who will set about resolving them and be able to tell the truth. I have faith in people in the sense that there are more sensible people then there are stupid.

  5. The long road to recovery lies ahead. On a separate topic, I have located more "Hands" videos, including the spinning wheel. How complex! My first wheel was a double drive band, bobbin lead. I soon acquired a single band, flyer lead. What a relief. I became a production spinner, it was so fast and easy.

  6. I think the human race is quite good at readdressing itself Joanne but it is a long road, there are just too many of us at the moment. The making of a spinning wheel in 'Hands' was fascinating, especially as we had gone through the complicated process of putting one together. Handwork and craft is not talked of as one answer to the problem of how to create work but when the machines came along they definitely reduced the working population. Could not be doing with a double drive, single is simple but I enjoy the process of spinning.

  7. They have done precisely nothing to help and will carry on doing nothing but fight each other for the top job. It is sickening to watch.

  8. It is not as if a decent canditate has stepped forward from either party. The system needs changing. For a start we don't get to vote for the next prime minister, it will be behind closed doors heavily influenced from central Conservative office. Johnson started all this with his 'fiefdom' but deep down I know people will vote conservative for their own preservation, ignoring the problems that besiege us.
