Friday

The noisy invalid, perfectly able to jump on the sofa or walk upstairs but she practically moans all the time!  Back to the vet tomorrow for bandage change - joy!  God knows what it all will cost.

Went to the gallery yesterday and I bought these two vases, I had seen them months ago, or similar, and fancied single roses in them, one problem is the inside  which is porous, so water penetrates through, LS says rice water should seal them.  Anything I fancied, yes but too pricey, small jewel like painting of birds and flowers, just love the use of gold in paintings....

Changeable weather;  Today, the day of America's fate;)  LS said this morning it may not be so bad after all (think he was trying to cheer me up) it will be a bit like the 1960's, things will be upended something might come out of it............

  1. I daresay if Lucy were human she might be diagnosed with anxiety issues. Her nocturnal ramblings must be disturbing. We have a cat, Charlie, who is left indoors at night walks through the rooms mewing loudly until one of us gets out of bed and ushers him outside.
The colors in your vases are beautifully warm and tranquil--I wonder how the maker expected them to be used with no interior glazing [?]
The installation of Trump--shudder! Jim remarked again last evening that we cannot imagine how it came down to a choice between two such undesirable candidates.

    1. She definitely has anxiety issues, so we just go along with them, and she is calming down, could be the pain-killers I squirted on her food at lunch time, as the vet said she will be milking her injury for a while yet.

  2. It is hard to watch a pet we love in such pain. they do get themselves into such quandaries. I do love those vases, something I would also want to purchase.

    1. Lucy can put on quite a show, even if it is just a stomach ache. She is loads of fun and does entertain but 'drama queen'is her nature. The vases were in several sizes, crackled glaze and beautifully muted colours.

    1. She is already starting to feel better, those head collars are a nuisance and she knocks against tables and chairs, I will pass on your good wishes;)

  4. I love your vases and hope that the rice water seals them.

I expect you and Lucy were pleased when her little operation was over and done with and I'm sure she'll soon be on the mend. I hope the bill isn't too humungous . . .

    1. She is insured, but there is excess plus 20% for me, lovely vet who cleaned her teeth, said he would incorporate that part into the operation.

  5. Vet's bills - don;t want to go there.
Those vases are lovely Thelma - I have several pots which I love but which are porous - how do I make rice water please?
I watched part of the inauguration ceremony - strangely gripping in a rather scary sort of way.

  6. That was a very embarrassing speech for America I think, the whole thing has the making of a film 20 years hence. Goodness knows how this strange turn of events will be seen, some of the faces in the crowd looked just stunned......As for rice water, probably that creamy starchy water you get after boiling but I will ask LS.
