Things I picked up through an early morning journey through the net. All church gatherers and that includes, Sue of Suffolk and Jennie of Codlin Cream, there is a third church gatherer around. Smell of Water gets to see the earlier churches of the North with Viking and Saxon carvings, so for your edification, two of his Wordpress blogs this morning below. You might have trouble signing in to Wordpress but you are offered a couple of choices.

For Yorkshire Pudding, this tickled my fancy yesterday, as a deep sigh of pure sadness went through my thoughts about the terrible choice we have in leaders of this country....

But I woke up this morning on a very happy dream in the uplands of sun and landscape, cycling on a bike for goodness sake to my car that contained a puppy. Now make of that what you will but isn't Going Gently getting a puppy soon?
A good dream sets the scene for the day doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteYes it certainly does Pat.
DeleteI read the Smell of Water post this morning and wanted to get in the car and start driving straight away, NORTH!!
ReplyDeleteThe churches are very different again from your part of the world, they seem to reflect the waves of people coming in from Northern Europe. Also of course not always noted by Pevsner (I call him Mr.Dryasdust) the different stone materials to hand.
DeleteTerrible choice indeed. Shameful comments by Truss. If we were younger and fitter we'd leave the country.
ReplyDeleteOur dogs keep us just about sane. Like your 'dream' puppy. Jan Bx
I think if Truss makes the premiership we are going to have an awful lot of hot air and misguided 'facts' Jan.
DeleteHow nice to wake from a pleasant dream. Yesterday I woke from a bad dream and it upset my morning!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend!
Thank you Ellen, there is a tinge of cold Autumn air starting to appear, August will romp through quickly to softer September days.
DeleteThat's a great set of pictures. Oh hell, what are we in for in the next 2 years?
ReplyDeleteNot exactly the pot calling the kettle black but Truss definitely needs a new publicity agency!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the links to those two fascinating and well-illustrated blogposts. It seems to me that Liz Truss is a female version of Johnson. As superficial as a fake tan on a Kardashian. Johnson's real name is Alexander and Truss's is Mary. Most of us stick to the names we are given. I prophesy that she will be an unmitigated disaster as this country's political leader. Personally, I would rather be led by Ant and Dec.
ReplyDeleteHe is a very gritty Northerner photographer, often taking photos of run down industrialised areas as well. Neither of the contenders are promising anything to help present problems but she witters more vacuously...
