Lucy at my feet under the desk! The dreaded window cleaner has come, with brushes and water at the bedroom windows, Lucy gets scared. Also the bantams, the yellow water hose snaking down the driveway is the largest snake they have see this year.....
And for colour, the crab apple jelly so reminiscent of Autumn..... and I would also say, that I squeezed the jelly bag and it still came out clear.
Wow. Lucky you. Great jelly and someone to clean the windows. I would settle for either!!
ReplyDeleteThe window cleaner comes every month, unfortunately the one who started with us is ill, so we have the cousin today, and last month the uncle. These long brushes they use are not so good as the chamois leather though. ;)
DeleteVery good Crab Apple Jelly (even though you DID squeeze the bag!!) I hope Lucy is settled again now the window cleaner has gone. We will need to get one here in the spring before we go on the market as we find the upper ones impossible to do from the outside.
ReplyDeleteThe van comes with its own water, the job is over in 10 minutes Jennie.
DeleteAdmit to skimming a lot when it was simmering, like the sour/sweet taste of quinces and crab apples.
Ah, poor Lucy. I need things done in the house, but having workmen in and around my house is such a bother. I am having some windows replaced in a few weeks and I dread the banging and disorder that will come from that.
ReplyDeleteThe crab apple jelly looks lovely.
Lucy recovered pretty quickly when we went out to lunch and she had a few treats. Shame about the disorder people working in the house bring but I am sure the new windows will keep in the heat?
DeleteWhen I lived at the farm I made crab apple jelly one year but sadly it just didn't keep long enough for it all to be eaten before it had a film of mildew on top. I have never made it again. Hope you fare better with yours.
ReplyDeleteI suppose it is some of the liquid that causes the mildew, but hopefully it will keep fresh Pat.
