That snatched piece of poetry by Harry Gallagher came from F/B, it is part of a longer poem. Just thought you would like to know. Up North it can be quiet and people are neighbours.
The difficulty with the last image is that some will interpret it in the wrong way. I believe it shows police beings thanked for helping to tidy up after a riot, but some would claim they are beings thanked for two-tier policing.
ReplyDeleteAs you probably know the Asian community has always fed the local communities in times of stress. And thinking about it Tasker sometimes we should take the layers of construct from what is happening around us, like two tier policing and just accept what is there. My daughter came home just now and said she had been listening to this woman saying we should change the language. So called thugs are terrorists for instance. And as far as 'civil war' is declared Musk should understand we are quite a lazy nation and won't get our knickers in a twist by pronouncements from outside. ;)

DeleteIf two-tier policing means treating decent, generous people differently to violent criminals, then I'm all in favour of it.
ReplyDeleteWell bypassing the weasel words of Farage, the police and Starmer say there is no two tier policing John. Even Patel says "There is a clear difference between effectively blocking streets or roads being closed, to burning down libraries, hotels, food banks and attacking places of worships.," echoing what you say.
ReplyDeleteThe fascists did not like the outcome of the election. My German friend messaged me today asking if it was true that a man in a five star hotel in Cypress is orchestrating the riots. Sometimes I feel ashamed to be associated.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure if I should use the word fascists for the far right thugs, they would not know what it means anyway. They are a minority group, using violence to stir up trouble, they are sad because the weakened conservatives did not get in but their plan of action, whether Tommy Robinson likes it or not, is a failure. No one read the following but my youngsters think that the fat, white 50/60s males are mostly the cause, not you Tom ;)
