flickr sent me an email saying that my storage on their website would soon disappear. So I have started picking some photos out. Helmsley is a pretty little North Yorkshire town, a small Co-op and a delicious delicatessen shop. We never went to the above building so I am not sure it would be open but the walled garden had been taken over by a local group and there was a good little cafe attached to the garden centre.

I do love garden photos, Thelma! I wish I had more talent and energy when it comes to gardening. My garden would never look like those! ;)
ReplyDeletewell it is just good to have these gardens on display Ellen.
DeleteI went to a lovely open air theatre performance in the walled garden at Helmsley some years ago. It was quite magical, although I do wish I had taken a garden chair, rather than opting to sit on a picnic blanket for a couple of hours!
ReplyDeleteThe little verandah cafe is good as well, and of course if you are a walker, you can walk from Helmsley to Rievaulx Abbey.
