Thrift or Sea pink. Courtesy of of Lara Howe

Don't hold your breath but things might change, and I am not talking about Omicron but the searchlight that is being focussed on our leader.  At last 'liar, liar' is getting through, his need to treat Britain as a personal fiefdom where he can change the laws is at last being questioned.  No more can he laugh his way through each disaster.

We should welcome other things, the Monarch butterflies are making an appearance, bison are being moved back into Britain to 'rewild' it's not all bad.

Thrift (Dig in, Dig in)

But today, some music soft and gentle, evoking the sea shore, composed for the book 'Lost Words' and 'Spell Songs' it reminds me that there are still empty places in the world.

  1. Where did you find that song? It's divine - good to see the freedom of the wild places captured in music.

We are so fortunate around here - the moorland and rocks speak to me and I can listen, though I don't have the connectivity I have with Dartmoor, which connects in my solar plexus. Can't explain it, but it just does, whenever I see a photo.

Rewilding is ok up to a point, but no big predators please - don't really want to meet something with large teefs when I go for a walk in the woods!

    1. The bison are big, gentle creatures a bit like the Scottish longhorn. They are down in Kent I think, only four but with two nubile females and a bull, not forgetting the older matriarchal female. Funnily enough Jennie I was listening to Standing with Stones, and Rupert said that we share pheromones with the things around us such as trees and creatures. So when you are walking in a wood and feel that you are being watched, it might be the tree. Your experience of the moorland and rocks might also account for this - the oneness with nature.

  2. Would that be the Yorkshire Pudding Bison?

  3. What a beautiful song Thelma. Thanks for sharing it. The lead singer's voice is so sweet and pure. Possessing a voice like that must at times be very humbling - as if you have been blessed with a piece of heaven.

As for Egotistical Johnson, when he leaves the stage to write his bestselling memoirs, the rest of us will be left struggling with the ongoing Brexit disaster that he gave to the nation. In my humble opinion, the fools who voted for him and his tribe should hang their heads in shame.

    1. I put a photo of Thrift at the top, worried that people might get it mixed up with good old thrift of housekeeping. It was a lovely song, and beautifully rendered by the whole group. As for Brexit, rather overtaken by Covid, its miseries will manifest themselves for years. Simple nationalism sold to people who should have thought a bit more where it would actually take them!

  4. The bison are nice but can certainly destroy trees when they are losing their winter coat. I remember seeing all the bark gone from trees in Yellowstone National Park years ago. Your leader needs a pocket comb.

  5. Yes the rangers are expecting this, the bison rubbing against the trees but it gives another ecology. The trees die, and create an open area within the forested area. Our leader has deliberately ruffled his hair all this time to give him that 'sweet ruffled look' ;)

  6. I do hope your prediction about our "revered" leader comes to pass. Things have gone on like this long enough.

  7. I think there is a definite sense of hostility in the country Pat. We can but keep our fingers crossed, though who will come in his place is a bit worrying.
