Sunday

We are being allowed more freedom, it is a bit like having a gun with one bullet in it.  Russian roulette is the game we must play, any one up for it?  I think most people will decide upon sensible decisions but the few that don't will put others in danger.  I have only one thought to add, what if the doctors and nurses, front line in the stakes of death, refuse to administer to us, as they have a right to.  After all 'free will' is the prerogative of all!  In the end it is  just not me, but everyone else that needs protecting...

And of course we are a sodding messy race as well;)

Gorgeous morning once more, Lucy and I walked down to the green, now is the time of the grasses (as tall as an elephant's eye) who remembers that song I wonder.  Also, of course their lesser brethren the docks.  One ugly plant amongst the soft rippling of flowering wild grasses.  I shall have to learn some more about the docks, for after all are they not the cure against nettle stings?

  1. WE are such a despicable species and maybe we need gleaning.

  2. Ethical problem there Tabor, who would you glean? Education and sharp fines are another answer. The pictures coming through of Yorkshire are showing people determined to have a good time on the beach or in the countryside , no matter that there are police signs up.

  3. That rubbish fills me with horror and despair Thelma - have we learned nothing? The future certainly holds a lot of question marks.

    1. I suppose the question is how do they manage to take so much stuff on a day out Pat, it would be easier if they took it home with them but also questioned actually what they were eating and drinking as well. Also people will make their own judgements as to what to do; we have an ongoing experiment going on.

  4. No surprise to me that people think "it's all over" and go back to their filthy habits. As for people making for the beaches, closed or not, I despair. 4 lads badly injured at Durdle Door yesterday - jumping into the water from 200 foot up on the Arch- that's like jumping off a cliff! Probably several broken backs - wheelchairs for life there . . . Plus of course, NO Coastguards working at the moment, which is equally crazy.

As someone who has had to shield, I shall be in no hurry to be back amongst crowds again in a hurry. A drive out, a walk somewhere else, a visit to a beach when it seems safer to do so (fortunately we have wonderful beaches with lots of room) and oh, a visit to a Garden Centre sometime would be wonderful if I could persuade myself it would be safe.

I am now singing, on loop, "Oh what a beautiful morning", you rotter!

    1. The Durdle Door episode was a terrible event, and sad for the boys who are now seriously injured. It seems that there was no one to dissuade them from a singularly foolish act. Keep on self-shielding Jennie, it is all a bit of an experiment at the moment.
As for getting 'earworms' the other song from childhood, 'She'll be coming round the mountains when she comes' is another one that can plague you ;)

  5. In their defense, a few of the trash cans were filled to overflowing. On the other hand, what became of "pack it in, pack it out." Beautiful roses.

  6. That is true Joanne no one was expecting so many people to flood the beaches and beauty spots. In some places the police were trying to keep them out. The moors are tinder dry at the moment, one false move with a barbecue and then the whole lot goes up.

  7. I really didn't want to be reading this kind of thing.......I had hoped we had moved on, I think that was a hope too far :(

  8. All round Yorkshire people gathered at the beauty spots and left loads of rubbish sadly, the good side is that volunteers cleaned it up.
