Simply Red

This appeared on F/B this morning, a slightly grainy video of a song by Simply Red - I'll Keep holding on.  It is naive, slightly out of focus, but is about Whitby.  Wander around St.Mary's church yard ;)

  1. I loved the whole thing Thelma - found it so relaxing and beautiful. Lovely to watch as I have just finished my Saturday Zoom coffee morning.

    1. Glad you enjoyed it Pat, not sure about zoom haven't explored it yet. The video had a very nostalgic feel to it, and it was funny seeing the world through a boy's eyes.

  2. Ahhh Simply Red, he has the most wonderful voice. Thank you for sharing this it was a double memory lane for me. The memories of Whitby and my time living spent near there and for my teenage years which were threaded through with bands like this. I saw Simply Red live, they were every bit as wonderful as they were here.

    1. Happy memories. He does have a wonderful voice and looks very young there. I had a small cottage in Whitby when my daughter lived there and I still miss it. The only way to enjoy the feel of Whitby was to get up early in the morning and walk the streets, Church Street was a revelation.

  3. What a wonderful voice! I have a print of Whitby on my fireplace mantel that I found in a thrift shop so I was glad to see more of the town. Couldn't spot the scene that is featured in my print, tho, of the marketplace... thanks for sharing this!

  4. The Market place is down Church Street, opposite it used to be an old chapel I think, filled with a mish mash of glorious stuff but in the end it closed down.
