Not 'Flaming' June

Well it is the time for aquilegias, so hopefully this Flickr photo will show up.  Life has been on a bit of a roll the last few days.  The cottage went on the market last Friday and someone made an offer (the first person) that day and it seems to have been sold, so quick ;(.  They fell in love with it, wanted a cottage in the centre of town and there it was. And now for the long haul of solicitors etc, there is a part of me that hopes it may fall through, getting rid of the cottage is not a happy moment but it does make life easier, so buckle up girl.....

Flaming June - you must be joking, cool grey clouds, a wind from the East that is blowing all the blossoms away, and no decent rain to water the garden,  English weather is at its usual game, note to the weather god, there is to be a village barbecue in a fortnight, a sunny day would be welcome.

  1. Red campion is one of my favourite wild flowers Thelma.
Good news about the cottage, but now the long haul for it all to go through.
It is 7pm here and after a cold breezy day the sun has finally broken through and the sky is pure blue, so we are hoping that tomorrow we shall be seen as the west of the country as far as the weather goes.

    1. Morning Pat, the sun broke through here at the same time, suspect we have worse weather on the East coast. Yes it is good news about the cottage, they are a nice couple by the sound of it but it will depend on a survey as well I suppose.

  2. Twenty-three degrees C where I am and we are thoroughly enjoying every minute of our warm June. This weekend is our Bank Holiday I just hope the weather stays fine.

    1. Yes Heron I have seen that beautiful blue sky in Ireland on F/B, the East coast in England is getting a strong Northerly breeze though, probably brighten up over the weekend.

  3. Sunshine and blue skies here all week Thelma. We are making the most of it!! I am delighted your cottage sold - and to the first to view it too. I am sure it will sail through and any hiccups might be overlooked as that couple wanted JUST your sort of cottage in Whitby.

  4. Thank you Jennie. We went this morning to collect some stuff, it still has to go through a survey though but as you say it was just what the people wanted, they had been looking for a year.
